Our Horses

Horses are at the heart of the work we do here at Ballybrack Equestrian Centre. We pride ourselves in providing all of our horses with the care, attention and training that they require and deserve.

Breeding | Rochestown Irish Draught and Sport Horses

  • The O' Donoghue family have been breeding traditional Irish horses since before the establishment of BEC. Before moving to the facility in Glenville they bred horses in the Rochestown area and built up a solid reputation of producing quality horses for both sport and leisure. Our horses can be identified by the Rochestown prefix infront of their given names and their impressive bloodlines. The Rochestown name has made its mark on an international level, with horses finding new homes in places as far away as America.

  • Some of our acquired horses are also registered under the Rochestown name. If the horse was registered, trained and competed by the BEC team it may have a Rochestown or Ballybrack prefix.

Sales | A Range of Horses to Suit Any Rider

  • BEC is frequently buying, training and selling horses. These horses range from home-bred sport horses and draughts to rescues. If you are looking for a horse we may have a suitable partner for you here at BEC. If not, our knowledgeable and well connected staff may be able to help you find a suitable equine companion or team mate. Contact us for more information.

School Horses | The Equine Teachers of BEC

  • Learn to ride or improve your skills with our beautiful Irish school ponies and horses.

  • At Ballybrack we have many horses and ponies to suit all riders of all levels and all ages. Our school horses and ponies are well schooled, well maintained and very experienced. For our more experienced riders we have more challenging mounts. Throughout the years our horses and ponies have taught hundreds of pupils both the basics and the finer points of equestrian sport and continue to do so on a daily basis.
